Tax Amnesty / Voluntary Disclosure

When people talk about Tax Amnesty and the Voluntary Disclosures Program (VDP), they are referring to the same thing.
Some other lawyers make a big deal of how their Tax Amnesty is different from the VDP, but this is simply a marketing gimmick.

If you have undeclared income or unfiled returns, we may be able to do a lawyer-protected, anonymous voluntary disclosure on your behalf which would bring you up to date without any penalties or prosecution.

Call us for a Free Consultation and ask us if you would qualify.

But remember: once the CRA calls or corresopnds with you regarding an undeclared amount, it is too late for a Voluntary Disclosure. If you qualify, you must act today! You'll be glad you did

Conditions for a Voluntary Disclosure

According to the CRA, "A valid disclosure must meet four conditions. These conditions require that the disclosure be voluntary, complete, involve the application or potential application of a penalty, and generally include information that is more than one year overdue. If the CRA accepts the disclosure, the taxpayer will have to pay the taxes or charges owing, plus interest. However, the taxpayer will not be subject to penalty or prosecution for those amounts accepted as a valid disclosure."
